Before this basket was a basket, it was grass. Growing tall in the fields of northern Ghana, cut by hand, dried under the sun,is  and carried to the hands of a woman who knew exactly what to do with it.

That woman wove it into this. Every strand tight. Every handle is attached with leather that will soften with use and last for decades. The result was made for a life.

Take it to the market. Fill it with vegetables, bread, flowers, or whatever the morning calls for. Put it by the door. Hang it on a hook. Leave it on the kitchen counter looking exactly as good empty as it does full.

Known traditionally as a Bolga basket,  born in the Bolgatanga region of northern Ghana and still made the same way it always has been.

Natural, plastic-free and woven entirely by hand.
