About us

Who are we?

Nokupa is a sustainable brand located in Finland. Our baskets and bags are handwoven in rural Ghana and Kenya.  It was founded by Norkor Naate-Kivimaa. Our aim is to reintroduce the beautiful culture of Africa to the world through our handmade baskets and bags.

We also aim to increase awareness of how our baskets and bags are ethically produced. The world needs to be encouraged to consume sustainable fashion and empower these female artisans who still practice this craft.

In rural Kenya and Ghana, some women still practice the art of weaving,

Our baskets and bags are handcrafted in Ghana and Kenya using passed down traditional weaving techniques with a twist of modern style.

Each basket is unique and varies in size because it is handmade

All baskets and bags are made using ecologically harvested raw materials from Kenya and Ghana and recycled materials .
